1319 Woodfire Tavern

1319 Woodfire Tavern gets its name for the large Neapolitan wood fire pizza oven that creates authentic Italian-style pizzas. They have a creative pizza menu, with traditional options like the Margherita sitting alongside more creative choices like the Tennessee Hawaiian (Canadian bacon, pineapple, and a pineapple bourbon glaze) and Buffalo Chicken (ranch, mozzarella, celery, and blue cheese). You can also build your own pizza from the tavern’s topping selection. The tavern’s extensive range of draft, craft, and domestic beers are the perfect accompaniment to your meal.

Available in 9-inch, 12-inch, and 14-inch sizes, Brewsters makes each pizza to order before baking them in the bar’s brick oven. Brewsters Bar & Grill offers several signature pizzas, including the House pizza with pepperoni, Canadian bacon, black olives, onions, mushrooms, and green peppers. You can also design your own pizza with your preferred mix of toppings.

When Troy and Diane Domine purchased Pizzeria 201 in 2010, they had no experience running a restaurant. Now TripAdvisor users rate their eatery as the best in Montgomery, which is just over 10 minutes south of New Prague. The Domines create their pizzas and other dishes from scratch using the freshest ingredients. Much of the beef and pork comes from their own family farm, while herbs and peppers are grown behind the pizzeria. Enjoy a signature pizza or build your own featuring your favorite meats and fresh vegetables. Gluten-free and vegan bases are also available.

Whistle Stop Tavern and Grill

TripAdvisor users rate Whistle Stop Tavern and Grill as the best pub and restaurant in Lonsdale, 16 minutes southeast of New Prague. The diverse menu features American favorites including burgers, wraps, and broasted chicken, but fans insist you should try the pizza. Whistle Stop Tavern and Grill serves up hand-tossed and thin-crust home-style pizzas with a traditional selection of toppings. A three-meat pizza with mushrooms, peppers, and onion is the tavern’s specialty.

Brick Oven Bus

Keep your eyes peeled for the Brick Oven Bus, a food truck serving some of the best pizzas in Minnesota. It regularly stops at locations near New Prague like Boathouse Brothers Brewing in Prior Lake. The Brick Oven Bus makes its own fresh dough, which is naturally leavened with yeast sourced from Minnesota-grown grapes. It tops the crispy dough with a sauce made from San Marzano tomatoes sourced from a small town near Naples. The small menu helps the Brick Oven Bus team focus on creating high-quality pizzas including Margherita, Meat, and the intriguing Lionheart with artichoke hearts.

Perron’s Sul Lago

Pizza goes upmarket at Perron’s Sul Lago, a fine-dining Italian restaurant in Prior Lake, around 25 minutes northeast of New Prague. The menu features classic Italian dishes made with the finest ingredients, including lasagna, seafood risotto, and parmesan encrusted chicken. Pizza isn’t always on the menu, but at the time of writing, the restaurant serves a pizza special every Monday through Thursday. This special deal, served in the restaurant’s bar area, features the pizza of the day, a house or Caesar salad, and a bottle of house white or red wine to share with your dining companion.

A gluten-free cauliflower crust is available for an extra $5. During weekend brunch you can get the Breakfast Pizza with fried eggs, bacon, chorizo, and cheese. Enjoy the sophisticated atmosphere of the dining room or a more casual vibe on the outdoor patio. Pizzas are also available in The Landing, the restaurant’s dog-friendly bar area.
